Dental Sleep Medicine Coming Soon

Those who know me, know that I’m passionate about my health, my family’s health, and my patients health. You see, I don’t just want everyoneto have a healthy mouth, I also want them to lead healthy lives. It’s part of my personal philosophy.

I keep myself and my family healthy through our diet and exercise. While I keep my patients healthy through the care I give them. After all, a healthy mouth can enhance a person’s life – letting them eat, smile and laugh effortlessly. While an unhealthy or diseased mouth can lead to chronic illness and even death.

So, it’s with this in mind that I’ve decided to expand the types of care and dental servicesthat I can offer my patients, and in March I will begin offering dental sleep medicine in Charlotte, NC.

Well, Dental Sleep Medicine is an area of dental practice that focuses on treating sleep-disordered breathing, including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It is a known fact that sleep wellness enhances the overall quality of your life.

Research shows that 40% of the men and 24% of the women population snores and up to 16% has OSA. In addition, with more than 80% of the sleep-disordered breathing problems going undiagnosed, the vast majority of patients are not even seeking help.

The quality of your sleep has a direct impact on your health. Snoring and OSA disrupts your sleep and increase your risk of severe health problems. Remember: Snoring is a warning sign that should never be ignored. Also, your significant other will sleep much better as well!
