First Visit

If this is your first visit to one of our University or the flagship Concord Mills dental offices, it won’t take long to see that we do things a little differently. We create a beautifulconfident, and healthy smile for everyone. We understand that going to the dentist can make new patients anxious. We strive to create a comfortable and relaxing experience from your first phone call and throughout your appointment. We work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

At Modern Family Dental Care, we provide family dental care services for all ages. Our Charlotte and Concord dental offices offer preventativerestorative and cosmetic dentistry services to keep your teeth healthy and to guarantee that you are confident with your smile.

If you prefer to fill out the necessary forms before you get to the office for your first visit, please feel free to do so using our digital patient form here.

We want to ensure that you receive a thorough consultation and have plenty of time to ask our staff any questions you may have. Our goal for your 80-minute initial appointment is for you to get to know Dr. Haynes, the team of doctors and our entire team. We will discuss your medical history, past dental experiences, reasons for coming to see us, goals for your smile, and ask about sleep wellness. Then, all necessary x-rays will be taken before our doctors thoroughly exams your teeth, gums, and jaw. We will also complete a thorough oral cancer screening of your mouth, take photographs of your teeth and bite, and take photos of your teeth to detect tooth decay.

After your exam, our hygiene team and doctors will explain their assessment and answer all questions you may have. We will also show you what they saw during your exam by using our intraoral dental camera. This will help you understand your diagnosis and treatment options. We also take the time to educate you about the effect that periodontal gum disease has on your overall health. Together, we can develop a complete treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain a smile that will maximize your personal health and appearance. If the gums are healthy, most patients also get their teeth cleaned during their first appointment.

Our office also utilizes dental imaging to give you high-quality images of your teeth, mouth and gums. Dental imaging allows us to detect occlusal or interproximal decay, even in the earliest stages, which can often be missed by the eyes or traditional film x-rays. Our Charlotte and Concord dentists will review all data to treat the affected area before it can develop into something more problematic and ultimately, more expensive.

At Modern Family Dental Care, we do our best to save you time and provide same-day dental care. We pride ourselves on being an affordable dentist in Concord and Charlotte with dental financing available. If you have any questions or want to learn more check out our services or schedule your first appointment now. We can’t wait to welcome you to our modern family.

1) Do I need to bring anything to my first dental appointment?

We can get everything taken care of once you get to the dental office. If you are being referred from another dentist or looking for a second opinion, we may ask you to bring a copy of your dental records. If you plan to pay with dental insurance, please remember to bring your insurance card.

2) Is dental financing available?

Yes! At Modern Family Dental, we strive to be the most affordable dental office in the Charlotte area. Our fees are not the most expensive but the most reasonable. We give estimates for out-of-pocket expenses to help eliminate any surprises. We accept most dental insurances, offer our own special wellness savings plan, and have dental financing options available through multiple providers. To learn more about our savings plans and payment options, be sure to review our payment page.

3) How often should I go to the dentist?

It is recommended to have a routine dental exam and teeth cleaning every six months. Having your teeth professionally cleaned by a dentist every six months will help protect your teeth and gums from cavities, gum disease, and improve your overall oral hygiene.
